Coverage – Web User
Intego is currently giving away five copies of VirusBarrier X6 in UK magazine, Web User. Coverage – SC Magazine
Intego was mentioned in SC Magazine’s news piece on the recent Geolocation threats reported at the Black Hat Conference. SC Magazine, (the coverage can be found here) is instrumental at providing thought leadership in the security space. It’s fantastic to see Intego covered in SC Magazine so regularly – (InfoSecurity Magazine is just as important, but that’s a story for another day).
Mac security firm Intego said that since Google’s photo cars recorded MAC addresses, and this information is publicly available, the MAC address can be correlated with the location where it was detected. In many cases, this can be very precise, especially if you ‘are in a sparsely populated area.
Coverage – The Northern Echo
Intego managed to score again with another excellent review in UK regional publication The Northern Echo. In the online review, technology editor Nigel Burton was full of praise for VirusBarrier X6 stating:

It also securely deletes files – handy if you’re a paranoid type who doesn’t want documents retrieved by “undelete” software. Washing Machine also does its stuff with some of your favourite programs – like iTunes and Spotify – stripping out old play-lists and clearing caches. I was surprised by just how much junk it cleared out of my four-year-old iMac and was glad to be rid of so many tracking cookies. It also made for leaner back-ups.

Intego was recommended twice in MacUser (August 2010) this month. VirusBarrier X6 was featured in a macbusiness article on Malware and also as a competent solution in Howard Oakley’s response to a reader’s letter. Those who had installed one of a long list of free screensavers or a movie conversion utility discovered thatit came with its own Mac implementation of established Windows spyware.
